Blooms June through August.
The plant was once thought to be a cure for spider bites,
hence the common name Spiderwort.
The plant is quite common in the Tallgrass prairie.
This image was created at the Polk City
Cemetery.
The prairie is located about 1/2 mile north
and 1/2 mile east of Polk City, Iowa.
